Shannon Lloyd, the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Walsall and Bloxwich, visits Performance Through People, a local training provider based in Essex Terrace, Walsall. The visit highlighted Shannon’s commitment to promoting training and apprenticeship opportunities for young people and adults in Walsall and Bloxwich.
Hosted by Maureen Begum and Carolyn Stokes, Shannon was able to spend time learning about the range of vocational training opportunities on offer and the multiple success stories of individuals completing them.
“I was delighted to visit Performance Through People, an award winning provider. it was fantastic to hear about the apprenticeships and training courses they provide. Promoting organisations like this is key to making sure our young people gain practical work experience and training. Changing people’s lives by offering them the opportunity to pursue a vocational training course as opposed to a purely academic route ensures that they have the chance to work in a field most appropriate to their skills, interest and ability and is what sets this type of organisation apart.” Shannon said.
Looking Ahead
The visit highlighted Shannon’s determination to encourage residents to consider vocational training in order to secure employment opportunities. “I am committed to help providers like Performance Through People raise the profile of what they offer and their partnership with local employers to help promote life opportunities for our residents” Shannon stated.
As her campaign progresses, Shannon will continue to highlight the importance of apprenticeships and skills training for our local community in Walsall and Bloxwich. Her belief in the importance of this is reinforced by its inclusion in her six main priorities within her ‘our plan’.
